Rwanda on Saturday dismissed a US assertion that its forces were involved in a deadly attack that left several dead in in a camp for displaced people on the outskirts of the city of Goma in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The attack is part of a decades-long conflict over mining between Kigali’s forces, its M23 rebel allies and an armed ethnic Hutu group with the Congolese army. Patrice Motsepe, head of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), who is also the brother-in-law of South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa, spoke exclusively to FRANCE 24 about whether he intends to run for president in his home country. “There are people who will do a much better job than I ever can”, he replied when asked about a possible presidential bid.
