Spring may still be several weeks away but that isn’t stopping the Flat Rock Model Train Depot and Museum from kicking off its spring schedule in early February, with the announcement of a fan favorite.
Thomas the model train, along with his friends, will chug their way to the depot, beginning at 1 p.m. on Feb. 4.
“The Flat Rock Train Club members promise the new Thomas exhibit will be the best one yet,” said Pat Simeck, who oversees the exhibit. “They have purchased an extensive collection of Thomas memorabilia for the occasion.”
Thomas & Friends (originally known as Thomas the Tank Engine) originated as a British children’s television series that aired from 1984 to 2021. The show was based on a series of children’s books “Thomas & Friends” that features Thomas the Tank Engine going on adventures with his fellow locomotives.
The exhibit will be at the depot, located at 28700 Arsenal Road, from 1-4 p.m. on the following dates: Feb. 4 and 18; March 4, 11 and 25; April 1, 15 and 22; and May 20, the last day the depot will be open for the season.
Tickets may be purchased at the door. The cost is $6 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Children under 10 are free.
“Come and enjoy this delightful experience with family and friends,” Simeck said.
The Flat Rock Model Train Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of railroad history in our area.
