Australia are currently taking on South Africa at home in a traditional Boxing Day Test Match at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. After the big loss in the first Test, the Proteas would have looked to bounce back in the second Test, but the Australians have dominated till now in this game as well. However, it is not just the players that are troubling the South Africans. It looks like the camera equipment too is not on their side.
While fielding at backward square leg, South African paceman Anrich Nortje suffered a bizarre collision, as the spider cam, which hovers over the fielders to provide a 360-degree view of the ground, hit the paceman and he collided on the ground. The wire-guided camera termed the Flying Fox for the series between Australia and South Africa, rotates over the fielders’ heads in between overs, and this time it was too close for comfort for Anrich Nortje.

The hit was quite serious as Anrich Nortje laid on the ground for quite a bit and he was quite lucky to escape from a grievous injury. He, however, immediately stood up. Many players including those of the opposition like Steven Smith came in to check on the South African fast bowler.
Coming back to the game, the South Africans had a pretty rough time in the first innings as they were bundled out for 189, with only Kyle Verreynne and Marco Jansen scoring half-centuries. Cameron Green picked up his first five-wicket haul in Test Cricket. In reply, the Australians showed their dominance with the bat as they have already scored 358/3. David Warner is having a memorable Test Match with the bat as he scored a double century, in what is his 100th appearance in the longest format of the game. Steven Smith too chipped in with a vital 85-run knock.
