Clear some space on your bookshelves because the next big Quincy Friends of the Library book sale is almost here!

Mark your calendar for

Thursday, Nov. 3rd, 2-6p.m. (Friends’ Members only)

Friday, Nov. 4th, 10-5 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 5th, 10-2 p.m.

Just in time for the holidays, the sale will feature a large selection of gently used books, CDs, and other media perfect for gift-giving, for help with entertaining, or for your own fireside enjoyment.

The sale will be held as usual in the Community Room of the Plumas County Library in Quincy and there are many new and interesting books for you to choose from. For your browsing ease, non-fiction books are organized by category and hardback and paperback fiction are in alphabetical order by author.

As always, children’s books are free, and you and your children are invited to select 20 free books per family. Weather permitting, all children’s books will be displayed outside on the library porch.

This full set of the Inheritance novels would make a great gift for a young adult or anyone who enjoys the world of fantasy. Photo submitted

The sale will include a Silent Auction that features items of greater value or interest than our general sale offerings. The auction gives you the opportunity to bid on impressive multi-volume sets of books as well as individual volumes, many of which are in like-new condition and make wonderful holiday gifts.

The first day of the sale is reserved for MEMBERS ONLY, but don’t despair if you’re not currently a member. You can purchase or renew your Friends’ membership on the spot. An annual membership costs only $10 and entitles you to premier browsing rights at the sale

Better yet, buy a lifetime membership for $100 and guarantee yourself this privilege for…well… a lifetime! (Please note, both annual and lifetime memberships are PER PERSON, not per family.)

You can also purchase Friends’ memberships as gifts for others. The holidays are coming, and a Friends’ membership might be the perfect gift for anyone in your life who loves to read and cares about their community

Although The Friends welcome your donations of gently used books, donations CAN NOT be accepted during the sale itself.  If you have books or media you’d like to donate AFTER the sale, please call Bev McColm at 530-283-3997. Also, please be sure that books donated at any time comply with the book donation guidelines posted at the library.

For a copy of these guidelines, email The Friends at [email protected]. You can also visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/quincyfriendslibrary/

As always, the Quincy Friends of the Library appreciates your continuing support.

The Museum of Antiquity is a rare old volume that presents the “employments and amusements, the literature and arts of 3000 years ago.” Photo submitted
Perfect for the baseball fan, this look at pitcher Nolan Ryan is a limited edition autographed by Ryan himself. Photo submitted
