Polk County Library is proud to host the launch of the new children’s book, The World’s Biggest Snowman!, by local author Rylee (Kemp) Hayes and illustrator Landon Kemp, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22.
The book launch will include a meet and greet with Hayes and Kemp, activities and snacks, an author reading with Hayes and a book signing.
Together, Hayes, Kemp, and their parents, Wes and Marla Kemp, established Better Together Books.
“It is a dream built upon a love and respect for children’s literature,” they state.
Hayes and Kemp recognize that the books they read as children have had a profound impact on their lives. Like the characters in their stories, they realize that they work better…together.
As a team, the two siblings have combined their passions and skills to weave together words and pictures to create books of their own.
The first of these projects – The World’s Biggest Snowman! – is set to be released in October 2022. The creators hope that this story helps its readers grow to appreciate the power of togetherness.
In The World’s Biggest Snowman!, main character (Little Lumi) awakes one morning to discover her whole world frosted with snow. Her excitement can’t be contained as she prepares to achieve her snow day mission: build the world’s biggest snowman. But a slip and a tumble
sends her dream toppling down toward her little town at the bottom of the hill. When all hope seems lost, Lumi’s goal is accomplished in a way she never would have imagined.
This book is available for consumer and retailer purchase through their website at bettertogetherbooks.net.
