The king of bachata teamed up with Justin Timberlake to bring his fans a new bachata in Spanish and English with the song “Sin Fin.”
The more than four-minute piece is part of Santos’ new album, Fórmula Vol. 3, where he has collaborated with other artists such as Rosalia, Christian Nodal, Lápiz Consciente and more.
“I have never been afraid to experiment with bachata. I’ve always been able to create ideas that are not the norm, unorthodox,” Santos told Rolling Stone in July. “There are some musical proposals that people are going to be shocked to hear, because I’ve never done them before, with artists who are clearly icons.”
“Sin Fin” features a music video where both Santos and Timberlake show off their dance skills in the genre, which is not easy to master, while singing to the rhythm of ‘Spanglish.’
To dance bachata, Santos revealed in a ‘Making-of’ for the music video that Timberlake took bachata classes before and during the filming.
However, Santos’ assistants added that “it was very easy for the ‘Rock your body’ creator to learn the moves of the rhythm” that is part of Dominican folklore.
This is Timberlake’s second song in Spanish, as he had already done so with a pop ballad “Yo te voy a amar” when he was part of NSYNC.
Fórmula Vol. 3 was preceded by Fórmula Vol. 1 in 2011, Fórmula Vol. 2 in 2014, Golden in 2017, and Utopía in 2019, an album that featured the musical reunion of the group Aventura, through the single “Inmortal.”
