Bell Yet Reserve Playground in Wattle Park is a fun playground in a fabulous bushland setting.

Review by Claire Davill

Bell Yett Reserve is a large area with a great playground, tennis courts, basketball hoop and soccer field. There are bushland paths to follow, a small creek and a footbridge to explore as well.

The playground comprises two wooden towers connected by a rope bridge. There’s a double slide at one end and a tube slide at the other, and lots of climbing opportunities and platforms overlooking the park.

The towers can be accessed by stepping platforms, a climbing net, chain ladder and steps.

There’s also areas to play under the towers, with small fences and windows to play shops.

Nearby are wooden stepping logs and a log table and stools, both surrounded by trees and shrubs.

There’s also a little free library nearby, and a large information sign about the history of the reserve.

If you enter from the off-street parking on Stonyfell Road, you’ll find an interesting gateway (a Yett, after which the reserve is named for) and bushland trails and a footbridge.

Up hill from the playground are tennis courts, a basketball ring and a small soccer pitch with a soccer goal.

The reserve contains a fully accessible toilet block with a changing table.

Things to Consider:

  • The playground is not fenced, but is set back from surrounding roads.
  • The playground has no shade sail, but plenty of shade from trees, especially in the morning.
  • There is off-street parking on Stonyfell Road, but the playground is closer to Cooper Angus Grove.

Location:

Bell Yet Reserve, 9 Stonyfell Road, Wattle Park.

Off-street Parking on Stonyfell Road, access also from Cooper Angus Grove and Simpson Road
