From water slides to a Weet-Bix eating contest, a petting zoo to bubble soccer – there is plenty of action planned for the City of Salisbury’s annual Australia Day celebration.
A free community hot breakfast of bacon and egg rolls served up by the 1st Salisbury and Mawson Lakes Scout Groups, or a healthy option of fruit and yoghurt will be available from 8am (while supplies last), with coffee, ice-cream, drinks and food available for purchase during the day.
Official events will include a flag raising ceremony, presentation of the Salisbury Australia Day Citizen of the Year award winners and a Citizenship Ceremony. The day will also be packed with loads of free entertainment including live music from a local brass band and family friendly DJ.
Program of Events
- 8am – Official opening
- 8.05am – Flag raising ceremony by Air League Cadets
- 8.15am – Salisbury City Band
- 9.15am – City of Salisbury Australia Day Awards
- 10.15am – Citizenship Ceremony
- 10.35am – DJ – best of Australian music
- 2pm – Event concludes

- Water slides and a giant playground for the whole family (don’t forget your towel)
- Exciting novelty Australian competitions
- Farmer Darcy’s petting zoo
- Bubble soccer
- Come and try disc golf with SA Disc Golf
- Target sports activities with the Scouts (including archery)
- Gymnastics play space and trampolines
- Little kids soft play zone
- Novelty activities including cornhole toss, tug of war, sack races, – egg and spoon races
- Art activities for kids
- Fire trucks and military vehicles
