The lawyer for Mozambique’s presidential candidate Venancio Mondlane was shot dead along with a senior party official in their car in Maputo, opposition party PODEMOS said Saturday. The shootings came as the south African country awaits the results of an election that may challenge the near 50-year rule of the governing Frelimo party.
