Matching Furniture
The first thing that we’re going to look at is having matching furniture. If you were creating a living room in your home, or a kitchen or any room for that matter, you would ensure that you had matching furniture, right? Of course you would because you want things to look their best. Well, the same needs to be said for your holiday house if you want it to feel like a home. You need to put effort into finding pieces of furniture that compliment each other, that are comfortable, and that give off a cozy vibe.
Accessible Kitchen
You might assume that the kitchen won’t get used much in a holiday rental. However, many people enjoy cooking while they are away on holiday. Make sure you have all the mod cons including dishwasher and other integrated appliances. If you want to be fancy then you could also add a separate oven and hob. If you do this, you might also want to install a vent hood so your kitchen doesn’t end up flaking because of the heat.
Try to ensure that you are catering for as many needs as you can with this kitchen so that it’s possible for people of all abilities to use it. What we mean by this is that if there is a step into the kitchen for example, perhaps have a ramp over it so that it’s accessible for those with mobility issues. This goes above and beyond to make them feel comfortable, and feel as though they are in a home, rather than a rented accommodation.
Ceiling Fans
If you live in a particularly warm location then investing in ceiling fans might be necessary. Ceiling fans are cheaper to install and run than air conditioning. However, if the room is already hot then the fan will just circulate the warm air around. If you have the budget then air conditioning would be the way to go. You will also be able to charge your guests more as this is a luxury not all holiday homes have.
TV Channels
Finally, when people come on holiday they want to spend some of their chilling out. You might want to think about adding TV channels for your guests to watch. It is quite common for holiday home owners to add English tv to their properties. This is a huge hit with people from all over the world including the UK and USA. Search different providers and see which deal suits you and your budget the best.
