Largs Bay Foreshore Ice Cream Themed Playspace Redevelopment
The Largs Bay foreshore playspace is a very popular site with local and visiting families and is set to undergo an exciting redevelopment. The foreshore will be transformed into an ice cream themed playspace with a focus on inclusive play equipment offering opportunities for different ages and abilities.
This will be complemented by the ‘changing places facility’ being constructed in 2023/2024 as part of the new public toilet facilities.
The playspace is scheduled for construction in the 2023/2024 financial year pending the adoption of the Council’s Annual Business Plan 2023-24, following the construction of the Changing Places (toilet) facility.
The playspace will include:
1. Climbable soft serve ice cream cup
2. Banana split themed inclusive see-saw
3. Double swing
4. Informative sensory popsicle sculpture
5. Inclusive mound slide on rubber softfall ice cream cone
6. Wheelchair accessible carousel
7. Inclusive accessible trampolines
8. Ice cream scoop feature with monkey bars
9. Timber bridge
10. Rubber softfall ditch with domed climbing net
11. Climbing tower with large tunnel slide
12. Cherry sculpture
13. Talking tubes
14. Picnic setting
