Heritage on Sunday – Family Friendly Events at the Tea Tree Gully Heritage Museum
Managed and maintained by theTea Tree Gully Branch of the National Trust of South Australia, the Tea Tree Gully Heritage Museum holds family friendly public openings on the third Sunday of the month.
The Highercombe Hotel, a prominent landmark in the historic township of Tea Tree Gully, was opened in 1854. The building has served as a hotel, a community meeting room, a post office, a school room, and residence for postal officers, teachers and a private family. Now the centrepiece of a museum known previously as the Old Highercombe Hotel Museum, in 2015 the name was changed to Tea Tree Gully Heritage Museum.

Good Housekeeping C1923 – Cooking, Cleaning, Washing – 100 Years Ago

The Tea Tree Gully Heritage Museum will open with a special SA History Festival theme called ‘Good Housekeeping c1923’.
Forget the gym! Bend and stretch, lift and twist, as you experience what housekeeping was like a hundred years ago. Interpretive signs and hands-on activities are available. So, pop on a pinny or wring out a rag for this fun event.
Explore twelve rooms in the building, four display pavilions, blacksmith, police cell, laundry and the charming garden.
Sausage Sizzle and Devonshire Tea will be available and the gift shop is stocked with unique craft.
Entry: Adult $5, Concession $4, Children Free.
