The Minlaton Caravan Park has a range of accommodation and is perfect to explore the amazing beaches on the Yorke Peninsula.
Review by Adaire Prosser
Minlaton is located on the Yorke Peninsula, about 2 and a half hours drive from Adelaide. The historic town has a large Foodland, a pub, a couple of cafes and other stores. The major appeal of Minlaton is the close proximity to some of the famous Yorke Peninsula beaches. We stayed at the Minlaton Caravan Park over the Easter long weekend in 2025 with our family of four.
The caravan park is a good size, with large grassed sites that have lots of space to set up and not feel too close to your neighbours. There are also cabins available and some nice modern villas.
The camp kitchen is large and spacious. There is an undercover TV, cooking appliances, sinks for washing up and a range of lawn games including Connect 4 and Finska.
The main amenities block is well maintained and has good sized showers. A laundry is also located here with clothes lines on the grassed area. There are also some newer, transportable style showers and toilets located to the rear of the site to suit people camping further away from the main building.
Apart from a small play boat, there is not a playground or games room for kids located on the caravan park grounds. The caravan park dirt roads are quiet and well-maintained which is perfect for bike riding. Otherwise, the Minlaton playground is located just across the road, a 5 minute walk from the caravan park. There is also a fauna park across the road from the caravan park which has kangaroos and emus.
The main street of Minlaton is a 5 minute walk from the caravan park. A Foodland stocks all the essentials and there are dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The sidewalks are wide and paved so suitable for walking with a pram. Watsacowie Brewing Company is a family friendly brewery located a short walk from the caravan park.
Minlaton is in close proximity to some of the best beaches on the Yorke Peninsula, with Flaherty Beach and Parsons Beach both a 20-30 minute drive away. Day trips to nearby towns are also popular such as Point Turton and Port Vincent.
