The City of Charles Sturt is trying something new in 2025 for their ‘Doggy Day Out’
Go along to the newly named Doggy Day in May (previously known as Doggy Day on the Green). This year they are excited to trial a new approach to community engagement and education and invite the community to join one of the many seminars, puppy playgroups, dog park etiquette sessions and a Community Dog Walk!
Doggy Day in May will include a number of free educational events and activities focused on dog training and behaviour, including:
- Puppy playgroups (for puppies under 14 weeks of age)
- Dog park etiquette sessions at Semapaw Park and Pooch Park
- A community dog walk at Point Malcolm Reserve (partnered with ChipBlitz for affordable microchipping)
The day will also have educational seminars on:
- Preparing for a new puppy
- Dog Body Language
- Helping a reactive dog
- Reducing barking
- Dogs and Storks (preparing your dog for the arrival of a new baby) – run by dog trainer Canine Interaction
- Arthritis and pain management in dogs – run by Horizon Palliative Vets
Bookings are essential, so make sure to get in quick before these paw-some events get booked out.
