Kodomo no Hi Adelaide is celebrating 30 years and bringing the vibrant energy of Okinawa to Adelaide!
Okinawa, once known as the Ryūkyū Kingdom, has a unique history, culture, and traditions that set it apart from mainland Japan. From its crystal-clear beaches and tropical vibes to its lively Eisa drumming, colorful Bingata textiles, and soulful sanshin music, Okinawa is a land of warmth, resilience, and joy!
The word Ryūkyū (琉球) comes from ancient Chinese records referring to Okinawa’s islands, which thrived as an independent kingdom with rich cultural exchanges across Asia. Today, Okinawa is known for its laid-back island lifestyle, karate origins, and longest-living people in the world!
The event will feature vibrant cultural performances, exciting activities, delicious food, and a joyful celebration of children, family, and friendship.
Tickets: $5 per person | $10 per family (4 pax) | Kids under 5: FREE
