Woolshed Brewery | Murtho, Riverland | Review

A stunning location on the banks of the Murray River and a family friendly, laid back atmosphere make The Woolshed Brewery a perfect place to while away some time on your next family holiday to the Riverland.

Review by Sharon Harrington

The Woolshed Brewery is set in the historic 100 year old shearing sheds of Wilkadene Station, and is only a short 15 minute drive from Renmark.  With it’s riverfront location, you can also cruise up by boat and moor for the afternoon.

Woolshed Brewery

The brewery has a large range of award winning beers, ciders and hard lemonades along with soft drinks and juices for non-drinkers and children.

There are lots of beautiful spots to sit, whether it be perched up high on the deck overlooking the river under the shade of River Red Gums, on the grassed area under umbrellas, or indoors undercover.

On weekends they have rotating food trucks, live music and other events. Check their social media pages for regular ‘what’s on’ updates (Facebook & Instagram) .

On weekdays, they offer a range of locally made goods to create your own platters. Alternatively, you can bring your own picnic lunch or take advantage of the free BBQ’s available. The atmosphere on the school holiday weekday that we went was very chill, family friendly with great tunes played through the sound system.

There is ample space for the kids to play (of course always remembering to always be watchful of young children near water) with large grassed areas and a nature play area. The nature play area has a water theme, which shows how water can move within the river system and how it can be managed through weirs and regulators.

There is also an art gallery on site that our Play & Go kids loved wandering around and appreciating the paintings of the local area.

The Woolshed Brewery is a must do when visiting the Riverland! We loved soaking up the beautiful views in the sunshine while tasting a delicious locally brewed beer with our BYO picnic and watching the kids play.

65 Wilkinson Rd, Murtho, South Australia
