Get ready for a flavour-packed celebration of Italian culinary traditions at the Adelaide Central Market’s annual Sauce Day event. Taking place over two days, Sauce Day offers hands-on sauce making experiences, kids activities, cooking demonstrations and trader specials.

Hands-on sauce making workshops:
Roll up your sleeves and learn the time-honoured techniques of crafting authentic Italian passata. Led by expert instructors, these dedicated sessions will guide you through the process from fresh Market ingredients to bottled goodness. (Ticketed event, bookings essential)
Gnocchi making for kids:
Aspiring young chefs can join the fun with interactive gnocchi making sessions. They’ll learn to knead, shape, and cook this traditional dish, fostering a love for cooking and fresh ingredients. (Ticketed event, bookings essential)
Cooking demonstrations:
Be inspired by the culinary expertise of renowned chefs Luca Guitto and Gabrielle Pezzimenti from Hotel Indigo. Hosted by Elizabeth Barbaro, these fun cooking demonstrations will showcase traditional Italian recipes and expert techniques.
Live music:
Enjoy the lively sounds of Italian music and more as talented musicians create a festive atmosphere throughout the Market.
Roving entertainment:
Be entertained by The Sopranos, who will bring their unique blend of humour and charm to the Market, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

Explore the Market’s diverse range of stalls and discover amazing deals on fresh produce, specialty ingredients, and authentic Italian products.
Tickets for the sauce and gnocchi making workshops are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
Please note: Gloves (sauce making only) and aprons will be provided. They recommend wearing old clothes, closed in shoes and long hair tied back. Please meet 10 minutes prior to class start time with freshly washed or sanitised hands.
