President-elect Daniel Chapo promised to unite Mozambique at his swearing-in ceremony Wednesday, which took place under heavy guard. Opposition supporters continue to protest against what they describe as a rigged election, with a local civil society group saying more than 300 people have been killed in a police crackdown on demonstrations since the election.
