Kidstock – an interactive mini-music festival for sensory seeking kids at Adelaide Fringe.
Award-winning, rave-reviewed, Adelaide Fringe stalwarts Libby and Matt are exhausted performing parents who have used their spare time (what is spare time?) to create a new show for the whole family.
Playing at Gluttony for a limited season at Adelaide Fringe 2025, Kidstock invites families to sing along to the soundtrack of their lives in this interactive, accessible, live music show by the pair that wrote sold-out hits Endo Days, Extra Curricular, Fashionably Late, and For Kids About to Rock.
The cabaret couple were inspired to write the show thanks to being parents to three great kids, including a young neurodivergent child with language and developmental delays.
“We discovered he loves to express himself and communicate through music,” Libby says. “Like so many of us, when he hears and feels music and lyrics, it brings him unlimited joy and has been the basis of many breakthroughs and ‘ah ha!’ moments. Music unlocks so much feeling and freedom within us. Matt and I made this silly, noisy show for ours and all the other kids for whom music and movement is the key to their soul.”
Libby and Matt also moonlight as qualified, experienced and very serious teachers, so they channelled their knowledge into writing a show aimed at sensory-seeking kids (and parents) can’t sit still – because they are encouraged not to.
“Ours is that kid in the audience always trying to get on the stage, constantly on the move and always making noise. And I am exactly the same!” Libby laughs. “There are many great Fringe shows by fantastic artists where kids are encouraged to get involved. We hope ours compliments those shows and gives parents a rocking good time.”
From pub classics to club bangers, Kidstock is a safe space to sing, dance, cry, play instruments and have a sensory experience. And the kids are welcome to do that too! Libby and Matt will entertain and engage families with hilarity, physical comedy, relatable shared stories, original songs and a cheeky cover.
