In Uganda, Sudanese refugee women are fighting to raise a feminist voice on the war and rebuild their lives. The “Guardians” association was born in Sudan and regrouped in Kampala. These merchants and intellectuals are carrying on a long tradition of mutual aid among Sudanese women from abroad, while engaging in their country’s politics. Clément Di Roma reports.

Also, in Ghana, president-elect John Mahama is getting ready to take office in a few weeks following his landslide victory in Saturday’s election. On his agenda, solving the economic crisis, as well as tackling the issue of illegal gold mining which has become a key concern in the country.

Finally, Senegal announced an unprecedented decision of suspending the export of peanuts, one of the country’s main export crops. As Africa’s third-largest producer, the government is seeking to boost local production and processing while countering China, its main buyer.
