Christmas is such a special time for families, but it can also be an expensive time too. We are fortunate in Adelaide to have many free, local community events at this special time of year hosted by local councils, community groups and churches.
Listed below are some ideas for families looking for Christmas activities that won’t break the bank!
You can’t miss the Giant Christmas Tree in the City and be sure to take a stroll through Adelaide Arcade which is always beautiful. North Terrace is always a lovely walk day or night, and at the State Library you can visit the largest indoor Christmas tree in the Mortlock wing.
Check out our Christmas Lights Guide for some of the best streets around Adelaide to visit, and be sure to attend your local Christmas Pageant or Carols event – many this year are also screening Christmas movies too. Take along your own picnic so you won’t need to buy food or drinks.
