What to Expect: Adventure, pirates, treasure, friendship

In this third thrilling installment of the Pirate Mouse and Mummy series, readers will once again enjoy adventure, humor, and excitement as they follow the next episode in the two friends’ quest to find Atlantis.

Pirate Mouse and Mummy are still on their quest to find Atlantis—but they’re not the only ones. The pirates they outwitted have finally caught up with them – and they’re not too happy! To escape, the two friends will head into a terrifying storm before finally reaching the cliffs at Land’s End—and, at last, the Gates to Atlantis! The sunken city is full of wonderous treasures, but as usual, when Pirate Mouse is involved, there’s plenty of trouble in store, too. Good thing Mummy is there to save the day!

Pirate Mouse, with his flippant approach to danger and devil-may-care swagger, is a fun protagonist, with the long-suffering Mummy providing comic relief. As with the previous books, these entertaining protagonists model teamwork and positive thinking, all wrapped up in an exciting quest for treasure and lost civilization. The simple language and graphic novel format are ideal for beginner readers while building the visual literacy skills of more advanced readers as well.

Pirate Mouse and the Gates of Atlantis is another exciting and fun story that is perfect for fans of the series.
