The City of Port Adelaide Enfield has released the revised Draft Master Plan for Semaphore Foreshore for community engagement and they would like you to share your thoughts.
The revised Draft Master Plan has been developed from all of the feedback they received on the first draft and has addressed a number of the concerns highlighted by the community, as well as retaining what the community told them they loved.
Community engagement is open until Sunday 19 May 2024.

NEW PROPOSED FEATURES INCLUDE:
Activity Hub
The Activity Hub will remain in its current location next to the kiosk and a newly upgraded playground. They’ve added an extra 114 m2 of activity space which includes a skate plaza, outdoor fitness equipment and basketball half court for all ages to enjoy. (This calculation is a comparison from the existing site).
Upgraded Playground
Upgraded playground for various ages, interests and abilities.
Water Play and Kaurna Storytelling
Water play and Kaurna Storytelling continues to be a key feature of the revised Draft Master Plan.
Shade and Shelter
They have extended the existing BBQ shelter and added additional shelters and trees throughout the site. The revised Plan includes an additional 24 trees and an extra 961 m2 of covered shade. The large shade shelters will provide full cover from the sun and rain. The images shown for the engagement have larger spacing between the roof slats to allow lighting to show on the elements under the shade structure.
New Kiosk
A new kiosk will be created with outdoor seating and potential for hire equipment such as beach mats, beach chairs and umbrellas and recreation equipment.
Connectivity
The revised Draft Master Plan allows for continuation of the shared pathway along the promenade improving connectivity and safety for people walking and cycling.
Grassed Space
The revised Draft Master Plan now has an extra 814 m2 of green space for recreation and family activities. (This calculation is a comparison from the existing site)
Carousel
The much loved Carousel will be staying in its current location and they will be upgrading the surrounding structure.
Events and Amusements
They’ve added an additional 948 m2 of events and amusements space for everyone to enjoy. (This calculation is a comparison from the existing site)
Monuments
The revised Draft Master Plan shows the existing monuments maintained in their current locations in the central plaza.
Train Hub
The beloved Semaphore steam train is getting a makeover! As part of the revised Draft Master Plan they’re creating an upgraded Train Hub.
Refurbished Public Toilets
They are refurbishing the existing public toilet block located opposite Choppin Street.
Accessibility
The revised Draft Master Plan includes a variety of improvements to accessibility, including improved and consolidated pathways, accessible toilets (including a Changing Places facility) and increased seating and shade opportunities.
Stone Fence/Border
The existing stone fence/boarder will remain as part of the Master Plan upgrades proposed for the foreshore.
Paving
You asked for less paving. The revised Draft Master Plan includes a reduction of 814 m2 of paving. (This calculation is a comparison from the existing site)
