CIRCUS THE SHOW: Adelaide Fringe 2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars for astounding feats & uncontrollable laughter!
Review by Sharon Harrington
Circus The Show’s gravelly voiced ringmaster opened the performance telling us we should expect “Astoundment in Aboundment” and that’s just what we got!
This is a fabulous show to take the whole family to, as there’s something sure to entertain everyone in your group. There are magical illusions, comedy, acrobatics, juggling and even a little bit of basketball!
The Ringmaster guides the show along with humour, introducing each performer with an outrageous origin story of how he found them and convinced them to join the circus.
The clown’s slapstick introduction to the show got the kids in the audience on board straight away and he also provides one of the funniest parts of the show involving a balloon dance to the crazy beats of the song We No Speak Americano, which had my children in absolute hysterics.
The aerialist’s set was breathtaking, as she twirled and spun effortlessly on crimson silks in a gorgeous white sparkly outfit.
The hula hooper impressed with her ability to swirl an ever-increasing number of hoops, made even more special when the lights dimmed and they glowed marvelously.
Another talented performer dazzled the audience using the Acrobatic Cyr Wheel, to spiral and whirl all over the stage.
Bavo the Basketballer’s high-energy act of spinning multiple basketballs on one finger, on his head, between his legs and more was a joy to behold.
Ricardo Desperado juggles a crazy number of bowling pins with ease.
Sam the Man amazed the audience with his magical illusions, including the levitation of a young audience member. How on earth did he do that?!
If you are looking for a wonderfully fun and entertaining show to take the family to, this is the one! Catch it at the air-conditioned Moa Tent in Gluttony until 17 March 2024.
