Visit the Giant Christmas Tree in Adelaide’s Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga.
This beautiful Christmas tree towers over Victoria Square each year and lights up nightly until the end of the festive season as part of the City of Adelaide’s Christmas Festival.
Going to see the giant Christmas tree is the city is a fabulous outing with the kids and it’s also completely FREE to visit. You can take a picnic or grab some food from the Adelaide Central Market or Gouger Street and admire the lights while sitting in Victoria Square. The tree features a light display which runs for approximately 15 minutes.
The Giant Christmas Tree lights up nightly from mid November (2023 launch date TBC), switching on at approximately 8.30pm and running until 2.30am.
There are also some pop-up water fountains in front of the Christmas Tree, so it’s a good idea to wear bathers or take a change of clothes and towel if your kids can’t resist running through the water (which is most kids!).
The tree is also worth visiting during the day if you have little ones who are usually asleep by 8.30pm.
