SA Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) Open Day in Adelaide
The MFS will open the doors to the Adelaide Fire Station on Wakefield Street straight after the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant allowing families to explore the fire station and enjoy a range of fun activities.
Have you or your kids ever wanted to explore a real fire station? Or sit in a real fire truck and see what it looks like inside?!
Join the MFS for some family fun as they roll up the doors to South Australia’s biggest fire station from 11am on Saturday, 4 November 2023. This free, family-friendly event provides the community with an insight into the inner workings of a fire service and will showcases a diverse range of activities that firefighters experience in their daily roles.
Highlights include:
- Meet and talk to real MFS firefighters and other emergency services workers
- See the fire trucks and equipment up close
- See the Road Awareness Program (RAP) team simulate a road crash rescue in real time
- Watch a simulated rope tower rescue by specialised firefighters
- An interactive fire safety education display for kids, including the ‘Stop, Cover, Drop and Roll’ game
