Use your cabeza (head) and dive into Spanish words that start with C.
This one’s a little confusing, because the letter C in Spanish has three distinct pronunciations. There’s a soft C, a hard C and the CH sound.
- The soft C sounds like S in English, in words like cerdo (pig) and cebolla (onion).
- The hard C sounds like K in English, such as in the words calle (street) and caja (box).
- The CH combination sounds the same as in English, like in the words chocolate (chocolate) and chimenea (fireplace). (To see our complete post about Spanish words that start with CH, check out this post.)
So enough with the pronunciation tips. Let’s get onto the list of Spanish C words.
