Port Elliot Show – Celebrating their 143rd show in 2023.
This traditional agricultural show provides a showcase for rural activity, giving local agriculturalists a chance to meet and exchange views, as well as giving suburban residents a place to learn about local agriculture and have a wonderful family day out.
On the Saturday, this year’s show will feature a display of large inflatable kites. There will also be music and guest performers Howard Sumner, the Victor Harbor City Band, Circus workshops, magicians and more.
The Sunday will feature Cool for Kids, Magicians, Celtic Gateway Traditional Music and lots more. Horses in Action will be as popular as ever with a full day of Show Horse and Jumping events. Along with music and dancing there will be something for everyone.
You will find entertainment all around the show grounds including roaming performers and musicians playing for you while you enjoy your day. The Main Entertainment marquee will have a variety of performers along with several local bands over the whole weekend. Also performing this year will be the Encounter Lutheran College Choir.
Competition sections include Art, Beef Cattle, Cake Decorating, Cookery, Craft & Lego, Literary, Fleece, Floral Art, Cut Flowers, Home Produce, Miniature Goats, Needlework, Photography, Pot Plants, Poultry, Scarecrows, Sheep, Ute Muster, Woodwork and Decorated Bikes.
This year the Port Elliot Show will be hosting the Semi Finals of the Rich Fruit Cake and Genoa Cake Competitions held in the O’Brien Pavilion at 2pm on the Saturday.
The Southern Fleurieu Museum is also available to visit for an entry fee of gold coin donation.
