The best time to travel to Ibiza is typically during the hottest months, which is specifically from June to September. Ibiza has a Mediterranean type of climate, characterised by hot, dry summers with many hours of sunshine and mild, wet winters.
During the very warmest time, average temperatures in Ibiza range from the mid-20s to low 30s degrees Celsius (mid-70s to low 90s degrees Fahrenheit). Making this is a great time of year for a beach vacation.
From late May/ early June through to September are considered shoulder seasons, which means you can still enjoy pleasant weather with fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months of July and August.
These months generally offer warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, making them great for beach activities and outdoor exploration. You may find this a more comfortable temperature as there is still lovely warm weather but it isn’t so intense.
It’s worth noting that Ibiza can have a lot of people visiting and be a bit crowded during July and August, which are the peak tourist months. Accommodation prices may be higher, and popular tourist spots can be crowded. If you prefer a quieter experience with more affordable prices, June and September would be good options. What to do in Ibiza
As we’ve mentioned the high season or peak season in Ibiza is during the summer months, specifically in July and August. This is when the island experiences its busiest period, with an influx of tourists from around the world.
This is considered the official start of the summer season and with it comes Ibiza’s reputation for vibrant nightlife, bustling beaches, and lively atmosphere. The island’s famous clubs and beach parties are in full swing, attracting partygoers and music enthusiasts.
It’s important to note that events and festivals, such as the Ibiza international music summit and other festivals, often take place during the high season. If you’re specifically interested in attending such events, it’s recommended to plan your visit accordingly.
Ibiza, however, is an island of two halves. The lively south and the laid back north. If you prefer a more relaxed and quieter experience, you may consider visiting Ibiza during the shoulder seasons mentioned above or you could try the quieter, wilder part of the island.
The north of Ibiza is renowned for its stunning panoramic views, gorgeous scenery and relaxed atmosphere. This makes it a good idea for unwinding amongst the rolling hills and vineyards.

Ibiza has a rich history and is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Ibiza town’s Dalt Vila, the fortified old town, is a must-visit. It features ancient walls, cobbled streets, charming plazas, and historic landmarks like the Ibiza Cathedral and Castle. The Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta and the necropolis of Puig des Molins are also significant archaeological sites.

San Antonio, is on the west coast and known for being one of the most popular parts of the island. It’s great for visiting in peak party season but also to enjoy the beautiful beaches and stunning sunsets. These are best seen from Café del Mar and Café Mambo.

Lastly this area has a lively promenade called the Passeig de ses Fonts, which is lined with palm trees, shops, and cafes. It leads to the town’s marina, where visitors can admire luxury yachts and enjoy waterfront dining.
