Battunga Park and Playground, Meadows | Review

Review by Jo Parkinson

Battunga Park at Meadows has two great playgrounds to keep kids of all ages busy plus expansive grassy areas for kids to run around on.  The beautiful trees in the park provide plenty of lovely cool shade during the warmer months and spectacular autumn colours once the weather starts to cool. It’s a great spot to enjoy some outdoor fun!

Situated on Battunga Road in the lovely town of Meadows, Battunga Park has lots on offer. There are two playgrounds, one designed for smaller children and one for older kids.

The first playground has a slide, balance bridge, and climbing rope. It’s not too high and suitable for younger children. A see-saw is positioned next to it as well as a spinning pole.

The bigger playground has sets of monkey bars, a rock climbing wall, climbing ropes and a ninja-style obstacle. This play area is great for kids aged approximately 7 years and up.

An exercise bike is nearby, as well as some metal domes. We tried banging sticks on them to make music, however, it didn’t really work for us!

There are two sets of swings, with baby seats. This is great if the park is busy, as children don’t have to wait as long for a turn.

A sweet little wishing well is near the entrance for you to make a wish! It is safe, as it is filled with dirt, so no chance of falling in and getting wet.

Park Facilities

There is a good range of facilities at the park, such as:

  • Undercover table and chairs
  • BBQ
  • Unisex/disabled access toilet block
  • Baby change facility
  • Seating, so adults can sit and watch the kids play

There is also plenty of grass to run around on, kick a ball, or spread out and have a picnic. If you want to grab food there, we can recommend the Pik a Pie bakery across the road. It has an amazing selection of hot pastries, salad rolls, sweets and drinks.

The park is partially fenced. All the areas that are near the road are fenced in, however, the back and side of the park are not.

Battunga Park is a great place to visit, particularly in the Autumn because of the beautiful colours, but the rest of the year is still lovely too.
