South Australia’s Kangaroo Island has made TIME Magazine’s 2023 list of World’s Greatest Places – 50 Extraordinary Destinations to Explore.
It’s no secret to most South Australians just how unique and incredible it is to visit Kangaroo Island. If you haven’t been fortunate enough to visit yet, chances are you’ve heard about this natural island paradise from family or friends. Accessible via a short flight from Adelaide or a ferry ride from Cape Jervis on the Fleurieu Peninsula, Kangaroo Island is an extraordinary tourist attraction exploding with natural beauty. A bucket list destination, it offers something for everyone. From scenic drives and walking tours to surfing, wildlife encounters and adrenalin adventures.
To compile their list of the World’s Greatest Places and the top spots to visit this year, TIME solicited nominations of places from their international network of correspondents and contributors, with an eye toward those offering new and exciting experiences.
