Hop into Adelaide Zoo this Easter!
At Easter we often celebrate with chocolate eggs, but what does an egg symbolise for wildlife?
Nesting sites are used by different animals to lay and protect their eggs. Sea turtles nest on beaches, Echidnas lay their eggs in hollow logs and birds nest in tree hollows. Over 300 native Australian species rely on tree hollows to lay their eggs, raise their young and seek protection from predators.
Hop into the Adelaide Zoo and find the three giant Easter eggs around the Zoo and collect a Melba’s Chocolate Bilby from The Zoo Shop (while stocks last).
Colouring in Competition
Adelaide Zoo has teamed up with Melbas Chocolates to offer two little artists (ages 12 and under) the chance to win the ultimate Easter prize stocked with Melba’s and Zoos SA goodies. Head to Melba’s Chocolates website to download the gorgeous bilby picture created by keeper Eli, complete the entry and return to Melba’s to enter the draw. Entries close Monday 10 April 2023.
Free Flight Bird Show | 11:30am every day
Let birds surround you during the Free Flight Bird Show. Learn how these feathered friends meet the challenges of survival and discover more about their super skills in the world around us. (subject to weather and animal management)
Adelaide Zoo is open from 9:30am – 5pm every day of the year, including Christmas and all public holidays.
Easter at the Park
Monarto Safari Park is also open all Easter long weekend – opening hours are 9:30am – 5pm with last bus leaving the Visitor Centre at 3pm. READ ABOUT THE NEW VISITOR CENTRE
