Prehysterical: Adelaide Fringe 2023 Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars for silly slapstick and sensational acrobatics
Review by Claire Davill
Prehistoric cave persons Rock, Urgh and Oww are bumbling, simple-minded folk, but when faced with a challenge, their acrobatic skills are second to none.
From the start of the show with the three wandering through the audience and eliciting giggles out of every child in attendance, to the hyped-up “I like to move it move it” finale, the show is fast paced, spectacular, and fun for children and adults.
The challenges of crossing a river, finding food and avoiding dangerous animals result in a non-stop succession of slapstick routines and impressive acrobatics. You’ll see juggling, hula hooping, trapeze work and handstand canes in addition to tumbling.
The humour is basic (as is the language of the cave people), the props are silly, and the result is a show filled with giggles, shouts and awe from all the kids in the audience. The premise of the show is simple, but the acrobatic skills are anything but. This is a perfect acrobatic show for young children, and older kids and adults will also enjoy every minute.
